Jim Tedford (CAWA), President, Alpha Dog Strategies
Jim has a unique understanding of the animal welfare field…he spent over 20 years working for local and national animal welfare organizations before moving to the other side of the desk! He served two terms on the board of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators (SAWA) and two years as its President. Jim helped launch the Certified Animal Welfare Administrator’s program and was in the first group to sit for (and pass!!!) the exam.Nowadays, Jim helps animals in slightly different ways. He uses his experience and passion to provide consulting services on everything from shelter operations to strategic planning to his animal welfare clients through Alpha Dog Strategies, the consulting arm of Alpha Dog Marketing. And, through Alpha Dog Marketing, he continues to work with a variety of humane organizations around the country helping them maximize their fund-raising and marketing opportunities. He finds it very gratifying to help so many worthy organizations achieve their important missions.
