- Board of Directors Development – Our consultants help not-for-profit organizations build, train and maintain strong Boards. We explore proper roles and responsibilities for Board Members and help establish strong lines of open communication between the CEO and the Board. Help with Board self-assessment and succession planning is also available. Your Board will leave the workshop with a long list of helpful suggestions.
- Fund Raising/Public Relations Planning – Let Alpha Dog help you integrate the efforts of your Resource Development staff AND your Community Relations personnel to develop a plan to maximize exposure and return on your fund-raising investment.
- People Skills for Dog Trainers – One of the more intricate challenges the dog trainer faces is dealing with people! It is often said, “The dogs are easy! It’s the owners who are difficult!” This workshop is geared to provide dog trainers with specific concepts; tools and practice that will teach them how to help dog owners ...
a) acquire knowledge and skills
b) hear feedback as constructive
c) learn to alter their behavior in relation to training their dog
- Training – We are available to assist you with many training needs. Workshops are available on many topics and new offerings are in development all the time. And, we will be glad to customize a program for your organization based upon specific needs…just ask!
- Program review/alignment – ADS would work with the Director/CEO, key staff and board on reviewing organizational goals, particularly as related to reducing animal homelessness within the agency’s service area to increase numbers of companion animals that are spayed or neutered; increase the number of healthy, behaviorally sound animals that are placed into permanent, responsible new homes to assess impact on pet owners in service area; increase the numbers of stray animals reclaimed by their owners; and reduce overall euthanasia rates. ADS will evaluate intake data for the shelter and for other animal shelters/rescue groups within the service area; assess the involvement of private agencies, government and veterinary community in achieving agreed upon goals; review the cooperation of/collaboration with other animal-related organizations; and provide an analysis of need for the creation or expansion of services, with recommended action steps, to expedite achievement of goals.
